Why Should I Take a Parenting Class?
  • You'll gain access to a tried and tested program developed over many years at the Early Childhood Development Center in New York City.
  • We’ll help you monitor the development of your child’s communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem-solving, and personal-social skills.
  • Every parent needs a weekly forum to discuss their current challenges and find reliable advice from others who are in the same boat!
  • Unlike playgroups, we truly focus on the issues you are facing and provide relevant research.
  • While family and friends are usually well-intentioned, they are often unaware of current parenting opinions and research.
  • Many new moms don't have family nearby, as was the case for earlier generations.
  • Considerable research has been done on the importance of a child's early years, yet little of this knowledge actually reaches the parents.
  • Our society trains people for every type of work. Isn't parenting the most important job of all?!
What's in a Parenting Class?
Each week, we discuss age-appropriate topics, such as
  • Establishing a schedule for your baby
  • Giving your baby a sense of trust
  • Ways to stimulate your baby
  • Understanding attachment and separation issues
  • Highlights of your child's development
  • Mother's and Father's feelings about parenting
  • Recognizing and enhancing baby's sense of mastery
  • Understanding development of motor, communication, and socialization skills
  • Setting limits and the beginning of conscience
  • Introducing solids and providing healthy choices
  • The need for toys, games, and activities
  • Differences between discipline and punishment
  • Sharing and possessiveness
  • Spacing of and reasons for additional children
Our classes are designed to help fill this gap!   Please join us to study these topics and more!
