Our classes are led by experienced moms who are eager to hear your questions and share our parenting curriculum.  Please read below to learn more about our instructors: Christine, Maureen, Sharon and Dr. Caroline.

Christine grew up in Colorado, but left in 1993 to pursue an MBA and a career in financial management on the east coast. She had her daughter while living in Manhattan and like so many other new moms was looking for a bit of guidance and support with the seemingly daily questions she had about how to raise her new baby girl. She quickly learned that New York’s upper east side had a great parenting program named ECDC (Early Childhood Development Center), which offered weekly meetings focused on discussing key parenting topics and providing a supportive forum for new moms to meet and exchange ideas. Since she had returned to work, she persuaded the director of the ECDC to offer a class for working moms so that she could attend with her daughter.

When she decided to move back to Colorado and to become a stay at home mom in early 2005, she discovered that there was not a similar program available in the Denver area. With support from the New York-based ECDC she started Positive Parenting and began teaching classes locally. She now happily spends her time developing the Denver branch of the parenting program and raising her daughter and son.

Maureen Dillie grew up in Folsom, CA and is a proud mother to 3 daughters. Prior to becoming “employed” as a mother, Maureen taught first grade and spent some time subbing in classrooms throughout her local school district. Maureen received a B.A. in Child Development from California State University, Sacramento and remains passionate about children, their growth and their progress. Maureen enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and being involved at her children’s schools.

I am a mother of three, a grandmother of four, and Co-owner of Smooth Transitions. In addition to my many years of personal experience, I have been directly supporting infants and new parents in their homes since 1994.

The idea for Smooth Transitions began in 1997 while I was working as a Postpartum Nurse. I saw the overwhelming need for support of new parents by qualified Care Providers that not only had the training and experience but also had a true passion for this essential work. With the help of my business partner (and daughter) we created a unique service that evaluates and places qualified Care Providers in homes during the first 6 months after birth. We optimized the methods by which people could connect while maintaining the highest quality of standards.

In 1998 Smooth Transitions began in Denver, Colorado. Since that time we have stayed conscious of the special needs of new parents and adjusted our service to meet their needs while supporting the Care Providers who do such amazing work.

I look forward to continuing our tradition of assessing the needs of today’s families and matching them with a perfect Care Provider so that everyone can enjoy this amazing time in their lives.

"Dr. Caroline" is a local pediatrician who enjoys teaching new moms about common parenting issues. When not seeing patients and raising her own two children, she leads the baby safety portion of our classes and is happy to answer your questions. She attended Rutgers University and received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. Upon completeing her residency training at New England Medical Center in Boston, she and her husband relocated to Colorado. They currently live in Park Hill with their two children and enjoy skiing, road biking, and hiking. For more information, please see our Ask Dr. Caroline web page.
